Feature & Follow Friday!

Feature & Follow Friday

Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's View and Alison Can Read

Here is this week's question:

Q: Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don't like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.

I always like to try new genres, but I tend to steer towards YA fiction, especially Paranormal Romance. My latest read that was NOT YA or Paranormal was "The Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella. I picked it up because the summary made me laugh. It's a fluffy, fun summer read and it's now one of my favorite books.

Summary from Goodreads:

Workaholic attorney Samantha Sweeting has just done the unthinkable. She’s made a mistake so huge, it’ll wreck any chance of a partnership.

Going into utter meltdown, she walks out of her London office, gets on a train, and ends up in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she’s mistaken for an interviewee and finds herself being offered a job as housekeeper. Her employers have no idea they’ve hired a lawyer–and Samantha has no idea how to work the oven. She can’t sew on a button, bake a potato, or get the #@%# ironing board to open. How she takes a deep breath and begins to cope–and finds love–is a story as delicious as the bread she learns to bake.

But will her old life ever catch up with her? And if it does…will she want it back?

  3. Kinsella is a great author. I love her Shopaholic series. I tend to read everything, but I have to switch it up or else I get sick of it.

And I have two cats... one of which is named MOCHI. Well, technically it's Mochi The Destroyer, but we call him Mochi for short, LOL. He's a Russian Blue feline.

I'm a new follower. You can find my FF here.

  9. New follower here!

I must admit that I haven't read any of Kinsella's books, but I see them pop up once in a while. Perhaps this is a book I could enjoy during my vacation. A nice fluffly read; something totally different for me too!
